Topic: Teeworlds.com now served via HTTPS

As of today we serve over HTTPS only.
The certificate is from StartSSL and should work in all modern browsers.

HTTP is not available anymore because PunBB (the forum software we use) requires an absolute base URL which will be used to create all the forum-internal links. Thanks a lot, Informer...

If you encounter problems, let us know.

Well, why do we need SSL enabled on a game forum o_O
Ok maybe for the login but that's just using up more resources for normal surfing.

Well, the only useful thing about HTTPS in the forums is to prevent sniffing the login data. Everything else is just as insecure as before, because images from different domains are loaded, so you can still track the user.

Re: Teeworlds.com now served via HTTPS

It's faster, a little, but its nice to see that the site is up-to-date.

Looks like your browser is blocking HTTP content on HTTPS sites, or maybe even site-specific. Google should be able to help.

Learn to search on the Internet? Minus told you what your problem was, you only need to google it and try different fixes. He's not supposed to take you by the hand.

Re: Teeworlds.com now served via HTTPS

Seriously, if nobody in this forum can help why the forum is here ? i thought it was for discussing problems. And you as always not helping, only being arrogant. If u dont have an answer ... don't answer ?
Omg.

I posted here because google give me 1000x possibilities and i thought some smart guy here (as you) would answer, but seems not. Yes u are all very smart as i can see.

While discussing u should answer.

Thank u again for the support, "support staff guy".

Re: Teeworlds.com now served via HTTPS

I was able to reproduce it with internet explorer xD

http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=29207  <-- before
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=29208  <-- after

Soo... now how to fix it.
There is an option to enable mixed content in websites... means http stuff in https pages.
The default option is that internet explorer asks what to do... it didnt for me... it just worked... can be that it didnt ask for u but just didnt work xD

U can get around it by just enabling it everywhere xD
The option u can find there: Internet Options -> Security -> Internet Zone -> Custom
It is called "Display mixed content"... Just set it to enable and save all and reload the page
http://www.enhanceie.com/images/blog/IEBlogX-ss.png  <-- screenshot of it (shows disable but should be enable)

...btw i posted all images as links because it it wont load normally anyway unless u change that big_smile

Re: Teeworlds.com now served via HTTPS

You should also serve downloads via HTTPS because hackers have technologies to add malicious code to binaries in process of downloading.

Dune is right, but it is also possible via a man-in-the-middle attack. But hey, it's teeworlds. No hacker cares about this.
