I think there is room in the teewars concept for any amount of gamemodes, as long as they are all based on simple concepts and are kept distinctly different from each other. Thus I am for Racemode, Tag-mode as well as Last Tee Standing mode.

CS-mode seems a bit too complex though, I don´t think it would fit the Teewars minimalism.

Redownloaded teewars and got rid of the problems. Though it may only be temporarily, for the second server I joined after redownloading I had pretty bad response times again. This time ping was 80, but it wasn´t as bad as the last time. Still, felt like 150 at least.

The malfunctions seem very random.

Something is very wrong. Had downloaded 0.3.3 and was playing on a 0.3.3 server too which I had a ping of 40-something, and I was lagging. The lag came in like really really small burts about maybe 3 seconds in between all the time. So I was able too move around and shoot quite well, but it screwed up pretty much every dodge I tried.

Earlier on another server it worked well at first, but then response times suddenly got so slow that I had serious trouble hooking, and stayed that way.

Not liking 0.3.3...

(I play on windows xp home edition)

I just think shooting at the statue seems like an unneccessary complication. Why not simply have the statue as a backround thingie that´s automatically captured if you walk close too it and there are no opponents nearby?

Nice, this is starting too sound good.

The fact that you don´t have much ammo only makes it worse. Nothing left for killing smile.

Asking for volenteers would have been enough, I´m pretty sure. The tricky part would be organizing it.

I mean, the current variation requires every participant too have access too a server anyway, while in fact it would be possible for a lot of people too use the same. The total cost would rather be decreased by having some official servers I think.

Besides, check this out:

Capturing sounds very ammoconsuming and sort of inelegant. How would you see how much life a statue had? And I keep imagining two tees of opposite teams shooting all they have at a statue rather than eachother - not a nice sight.

I like the map control objective thing, but it´s gotta be possible too solve it in a more elegant way.

I have no doubt airen is, at least one of the best players around.

Huge gratz to you, airen!

And to Dreamy: If you contact me in advance I might be able to come up with a server or two.
I host all LAN-corps servers, and I think and hope they work good for everyone.

Thanks for the offer. But as much as I am bitter over not being able too participate, that is not all. I want too be able too persuade every teewarsplayer I know into joining, and how can I do that if it´s so bothersome?

Plus, I´d like too play such games on a regular basis, too learn. Asking for access on a regular basis isn´t a very good solution hmm. The problem for me personally might be solved soon though, since I joined a clan that has a server. Just not sure how good it is yet.

Bottom line is I won´t be happy with teewarscompetition till there is a relatively simple way for anyone too join, or until the organizers actually try too make it so. Or until Teecup does it and outshines esl smile.

But yea, congrats too airen is still in order. Well played, I deduce.

Wouldn´t take many, people could take turns on the same server.

Pistol only works if they wait till they are really hurt before they run. Not all do that.

I asked in a comment on the Nightcup news if there were gonna be any servers available for us who dan´t have access too any. Didn´t get a reply, so I didn´t join.

I´m quite dissappointed of the way esl indirectly requires you too have access too a server. It makes the competiotions kind of closed except too a small set of people, which really doesn´t fit the otherways very open spirit of Teewars.

No disrespect too the players, I know your´e good and all, but I really don´t think esl deserves the status of determining the real Teewars champions currently.

One could argue that the chasing Tee should have better movement skills to not lose his/her prey!

One could also argue that running away is easier than chasing, due too rocket properties as well as the shooting while moving thing, which makes chasing very hard if someone is extremely good at running away. Thare´s quite a lot of people who are good at running away.

Campers isn´t a problem right now. People running away is. A sniper would provide a one-shot chance too kill a tee getting out of reach for the other waepons. I´d love that.

I was only speculating. Maybe see longer would be a bad idea, but medium/high damage is definitely be a must. Otherways it wouldn´t truly be a sniper, and it would be no different from the pistol except maybe less good tongue.

My guess is that the sniper is a long range weapon with a slow firing rate but where a single shot does a lot of damage. Maybe it will extend how far you can see too?

The same amount of players isn´t neccessairly the most balanced option, since some players are a lot stronger than some other players. I don´t think solving balance issues by limiting player´s freedom is the right way too go.

Small subtle things could be all good though. Like when a new tee joins the server it could automatically start out in the team that had the fewest tees, and if they were equally many, in the team with the lowest score. Stuff like that.

I´m guessing it could be turned back up if there is interest for it. Wasn´t much actual interest for it back when Tin started, so I guess he put the project on ice.

I don't know how well it would fit it, but walls with metal plating, or some nice flat metall surface anyway smile

Yea, or just some relly hard flat dirt smile.

Some issues with how this forum is displayed.

1. Just recently started using Opera and noticed that everything started too look much nicer. In Internet Explorer it´s really a mess in comparison.

There´s this dark grey backgroundcolour in the left hand thingy with the name, avatar and such. This "background" effectively hides the title text such as "Member" and "Mister Tee", except on short posts where there will be this gap in the grey at a seemingly random place revealing half the "Member" text or something like that. Looks like an ugly temporary solution, so before I got Opera I simply thought it was something you´d get too later. Also the names get slightly hard too read on the grey, but you can still make them out.

There´s also some grey in a square around the smileys, not matching the white background of the textarea. This, too, is in Internet Explorer but not in Opera.

2. Tees as smileys is a great idea smile, and most of them work very well. Being different from the regular smileys, but still sending the same message. The tongue smiley, however, makes no sence at all. It doesn´t look like it´s teasing. If anything, it looks chocked. I think you should make a new smiley for : P tongue.
