Topic: Graphical progresses of ctf5

Today I wanna show you a small screenshot of my graphical ctf5 rework.
The current ctf5 looks a little bit outdated, so don't be surprised... (similar problem with dm7!)

If you compare it with the old one, you'll see the differences! smile

It's okay, but i wouldn't do trees to the bases, they just block your fiew. And the background is better then the one of standart ctf5.

I like the new background, too. But.. In my opinion the tall tree in the upper right looks weird.. It's too.. tall.

There is a large glade, so the tree can grow up higher... tongue
Taller trees are unusual for the first moment... but I think it's important to increase the variation of the trees!

I love this one, clouds behind the flag spot look great. But unhookables tiles is a bit weird, because of the white border.

The background is 100x better,
the other one sayed that the trees on the base blocked the view. I dont think so.

In my opinion the gameplay of ctf5 is perfect, so it's not really needed! smile

With all the respect to chi1 and his work, that was about damn time to see ctf5 refreshed a bit. smile We know it's the most played from low n' midskilled vanilla players, and the integration of the new tileset rework of Landil, a good variation of trees (great idea imho) and a - how can I say that - happier backgroud, makes me love that map again. I was a little bit bored after a while and now with a little screenshot you've just made me want to play it a lot more. Thank you Zat, and all the others who worked with this stuff. wink

I like the background but I really dislike those trees.(not that I am a nature hater (:  Clarity is the key ;D

It is a lovely draft!

However, like "needs" said, the unhookable tiles are accentuated a bit too much, unless you use them in snowy mountains.

It would be still your decision to play with low details, "dark hunter"

I think thepro is right with saying that.
Dm1 is still one of the first Teeworlds-maps, and only had several changes and bugfixes in its history. It would be very surprising if some changes would have been made to some of the older maps such as ctf1, dm1 and especially dm2.

In my opinion, most of the bigger maps ( like dm2 or ?!dm9?! [Sorry if it's not the right name , but i only played the other maps in rare situations] ) would need some graphical updates, but that's only my opinion.
I don't think, that there will be more official changes to any maps. Why does anyone want to update maps, noone plays? ( except dm1, cause it is mostly played as a 1on1 map)

I think good Grafix and Detail is naice but not really needed since nearly every vanilla player has HD disabled.
I play with HD but only because im not playing often and seeing the map without Delait sucks for me. I just need it ;D
But reworks on grafix for maps like dm1 or ctf5 are pointless for me.

Just make a bind with high_detail as me:
bind 2 gfx_high_detail 0
bind 3 gfx_high_detail 1
