Topic: [Tutorial]Teeworlds In Offline

Hello.

This tutorial helps you how to play in offline mode (This tutorial is written for a DDRace mod and this help for play any maps in offline mode).

1) (Just for DDRace mod):Download DDRace Mod , for create DDRace server in offline mode.

(Windows Version)

2) (Just for previous case) Extract that file big_smile

3) Paste your map in Teeworlds Folder=>Data=>Maps

4) Right click on your map an choose Rename and Copy name of your map for Paste in case 6 in this tutorial.

5) Open Windows Notepad.

6) Type In Windows Notepad:

sv_map your map name
sv_port 8303

7) Click on File in Windows Notepad and choose Save As.

8) Choose Teeworlds Folder Path and type this for file name (type this with " symbol):
"autoexec.cfg"
And click on Save.

9) Run DDRace-Server file in Teeworlds Folder (Or if it isn't DDRace , Run teeworlds_srv file ((This need some commands in case 6 in this tutorial)).

10) Run game file.

11) Delete anything in Host Address section and type:
localhost:8303
And click on Connect.

And you joined to your sever in offline mode.

It's so simple, i don't think we need a tutorial for it.

Just start a server, visit the LAN tab, Taa-da! You got your Server!

It's really not harder then that.

Definitely too long, and some useless steps, such as writing localhost:8303 (just visit the LAN tab?) or using sv_port 8303 in the config which is the default.
You also could have done this for whatever server, not specifying this is for DDRace at each line.

Why do we need several tutorials for creating a server?
This one is definitely better.
Or whats about our docs? Server Setup

Btw: The most important step is missing, to host an offline-server:
-> Write "sv_register 0" in your autoexec

Ithink the idea is good but it should be a little part of a whole server tutorial. A big server tutorial with little advices for some well known mods. wink

This not necessary.

this tutorial is not just for LAN playing.
