Topic: Further unofficial resources to 0.6.0

http://i.solidfiles.net/e0d93.png

I'll re-write the introduction and almost the whole topic in order to merge this stuff (Hip-Hop's work) and the one here, I hope you can wait and give many feedbacks. Anyway, you can still browse the stuff below here, and sorry for the confusion.

Hi to the whole community, wink
Recently we have assisted at the great and very waited release of the new 0.6 teeworlds. Of course I'm not here for justify myself saying "Come on, download it! It is definitely worth trying! (cit. TeeKilla)" since it would take the whole topic. But if you want to have a clean view of our latest developments you should check this thread. Again, since compatibility has been broken the mods and a lot of the unofficial maps that we used to play must be recoded and/or redrawed to port them to this new version. This topic is here to prevent new members/players that want to open a non-standard server posting everywere and  to give enough reference links to every mod, new maps and every executables support.

Yay! This topic got "teh glue"! Well, I'm trying to do it even more clearer and complete as best as I can.
Before starting with links I'd like to say something about the formatting that has been adopted here. I highlighted in italic the owner of the mod/client to give him/her direct credit. The stuff is made bold for a cleaner and faster view of the whole topic. The contents that a mod could have consist in the possible official site of the stuff, the topic where it is presented, the source code if public, the "official" download links provided by the owner or a friend, certified download for files available here (hosted on solifiles.com), additional links or advices that I think are important. Everything is together with a simple teeish icon.
The first advice is: if you are going to hack the source of a mod, remember that you can't run a non-standard server with the name of DM, TDM, or CTF. The second one is: only these mods are available on the new version. That's why you mustn't bump and/or spam in the topics to get a new version, probably the owner is already coding and absolutely doesn't want to be annoyed. On the other hand if you want me to post the new version available post here or send me a PM.
So, here are almost all of them (before using them I would suggest you to read and obey the forum rules):

I don't care about modded servers, they are not my responsability.

The only suggestion is to use the Holy search function. First think what to search because you'll have to wait before doing a new search!

Credits and thanks:

  • Every mod is from the respective owner, highlighted in italic.

  • I'd like to thank Hip-Hop_BLOND for his huge work.

  • TeeKilla helped me with his formatting suggestion.

  • MerterNor for compiled almost every Mac OS stuff.

  • And of course thanks to moderators to make this post sticky and keeping our forum clean.

  • Thanks to all who will support this with [+1]!

It's still a little topic, but it will become very useful in many case.
I'll check twice a week every topic to be sure that links are not broken and up-to-date. If you need something send me a PM. smile

Re: Further unofficial resources to 0.6.0

Nice!
I searched for a new list yet.

3

Re: Further unofficial resources to 0.6.0

If I where you, I would highlight (bold) the name of the mod, not the creator.

Good job! Looks clear, and useful. You'll have to update it a lot, though.

Why do you think so? Anyway if you'd like to, ok. wink I'll just make italic the owner. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Further unofficial resources to 0.6.0

It think if you make a list about all available mods, you should directly see which mods are in the list. The creator is in my opinion only a additional thing. Should be of course mentioned, but name is, primarily, more important.

You're not supposed to post every time you add something, if I did that ppl would hate me too much... (even more then they are atm) post something like... a log at the end of the week, this is just disturbing.

Bee's map is really cool yes, I have it on my servers :).

There is gonna be a new version of the FlagBall mod? :O

It got ported to 0.6.0, more details (source and binaries for example) can be found in my other post.

Thanks to make me notice it, I've added the War3 as server stuff. Thanks again. wink
I've also added advices and a little intro. smile

Re: Further unofficial resources to 0.6.0

In my official opinion, you and Hip-Hop_BLOND should just compile all the information in your topics into one topic since it seems awkward to have two basically identical topics. It would take some time to get rid of doubles and mixing different writing techniques together but it's a worthy cause.

Apmox posted one day before Hip Hop. I'd say it's more to this one to help Apmox in place of creating a topic on his own.

Re: Further unofficial resources to 0.6.0

i might ask why are we collecting maps here when there is whole section about them already ?

I can´t read any explaination about that here.

In my opinion this topic will be full of mods anyway since they are poping up all time.

Or is this kinda similar project like Teequal which is out of date ?

Anyway gj this is a great documentation

Yeah you're right, we can find easily the maps in their section. You should know that this topic was in the support section and it was to give reference to the new stuff, maps included. This is not like TeeQual, i was just "collecting" them with their link to have them in a unique topic. I don't know if i have to keep the map section since it is now in the Mod section. What do you think? (The question goes to moderators too)
