When I start a server with this, I can't connect. It says: wrong version: server is running [....], although I'm sure to use the newest version of TW. The same happens with gametype dm. But I can join your server in the internet. Is this server for an older version or is it my fault??

Please help me

Hello !

I think it is a problem in my server with the GAME_NETVERSION_HASH in the src/game/generated/nethash.c source file. You must have this value set to b67d1f1a1eea234e to be able to play (check in your server log a line like [49ebf351][server]: version 0.5 b67d1f1a1eea234e).

You may have the source or Windows version (Linux one seems right). A new fixed source version is now available but you will have to wait for Window binaries since I will don't have access to a Windows PC by one week.

Other change : the mod name is now "Fire" instead of "gCTF".

Hey folks! I have started my server and I am hoping my bandwidth will handle it. Server is yet online irregularly and running multiple mods, I have decided to host ctf5 Fire sometimes for you Fire fans. Hope I'll see you there. Also one question. Why aren't the tune parameters "embedded" to the binary like iFreeze+ i't always insta. Just wondering.

EDIT: Another one, how do you make wepaons not to hurt you and teammates?

First, hanks for loading Fire servers ! ^^

It is to simplify our server scripts : we use the same binary for all mods we host, so we just have too change config file.
But no other good reason smile

Another one, how do you make wepaons not to hurt you and teammates ?

Weapons never hurt your team, but cant kill you because the shot (for shotgun and grenade) do not begin on you (so your explosions never hurt you).

I would need only the shotgun as you made it for a map I'm building atm (warlike), but I also need the water mod. Could you tell me what I have to change to get the shotgun working as your shotgun? Which code I have to edit / replace? Would be great^^

To add the shotgun effect, you have to generate new explosions with bullets' positions, on each frame. For example for us : in src/game/server/entities/projectile.cpp : in PROJECTILE::tick :

game.create_explosion(curpos, owner, weapon, false, damage);

Actually they do hurt, like the pistol when taking speed and laser when bouncing back kills me.

This is because explosions hurt you. It don't work with shotgun and grenade : the shot don't start on you, so it never touch you ! smile

Hello,

I released a new map, Tower, a big map with a blue flag in a secret place and a well protected one for the reds smile.
But since this map is new, I don't know if it is balanced as expected. Any comment would be welcome.
