Yes DM is a standard game type.

3 steps :

- Find and download bam (search on github)
- compile teeworlds source, so you got proper teeworlds server binary
- create a server and put the settings sv_gametype dm

It's not a modification, it's the pure gametype.
Actually, you don't need to compile anything if you want to run a DM server, just double click the teeworlds_srv in your teeworlds folder.

If you need help with compiling Teeworlds, look in the doc.
