Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

I am making a skin, but I do not know what the last "eyes" square is for. Is it the mask?
EDIT: Or are the first two masks and the last one the actual eye?

I need to figure out something to put here.

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

As I mentioned in another thread, the eyes-order is as follows:
Normal eyes, "player gets katana"-eyes, hurt eyes, kill eyes, death eyes (not implemented yet), "another player gets katana"-eyes

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

it will be overworked when 0.4 is out

8

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

The "???" eyes are ones I threw in there to be used as "dead" eyes. I don't believe they're currently in use by the game code.

9

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

Dead eyes, maybe it would be cool in 0.4 if when your tee was depleted of health, it would remain for 3 or so seconds?

No, that is not me; it's just a figment of your imagination.

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

is it dead eyes in English or death eyes. The eyes occur when the tee is dead, therefore the tee's death --> death eyes (?)

But besides: I recognized, that the Body sqare is 96x97! The first line of pixels of the 32x32 eye-sqares doesn't belong to the eyes-sqares but to the sqares above (body, black body, feet)

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

about the signature spot (left bottom of the picture - i saw it on Jeppo's skin template):

i get a kind of bug each time i try to put there something (if i empty the sig place, the skin works perfectly)

the bug: some kind of outline appear on the side of the character (i didn't drew over the sig limits, i allready checked)

12

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

i dont know how to change the weapons...=S

13

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

i don't understand the tutorial very good...

14

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

Change the weapon's look? Just edit the game.png in the "data" folder. smile

No, that is not me; it's just a figment of your imagination.

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

EDIT: ohhh, can i make the skins in gimp instead for inkscape? i dont understand anything about inkscape...but i have made nicly sigs whit gimp...so can i make the skins in gimp instead?

16

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

of course u can.

But they have to fit into the Template ^^

Jeppos Game.PNG Template

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

//can i make the skins in gimp instead for inkscape?

you can make the skins with every program you want, you just have the same the final file in a png, 24bit format

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

I repeat it, the best skins are done with Illustrator/Inkscape (vector graphics software)...

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

Although I have yet to learn how to make them in the teewars style... wink

No, that is not me; it's just a figment of your imagination.

20

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

i think teewars style is:
1. plain colors (no gradienst)
2. single plain shadow (black 30-50% alpha)
3. maybe a white highlight
4. for skins black outline

21

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

That's what I wanted. For weapons? I know there's like a squiggly highlight.

No, that is not me; it's just a figment of your imagination.

This is your way to work, there is no better way to do something,

Creating something is about skills, not having the 'best' softwares.

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

I am one to embrace free applications, such as the gimp/ inkscape. EDIT: Misunderstood, yes, vector is better. smile

No, that is not me; it's just a figment of your imagination.

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

primevil say nothing over best software he says about vector vs pixel based skin making.

ps: inkscape is free

Re: [GRAPHICS] Skins & Game

Sorry, I misunderstood. Vector is superior. wink

No, that is not me; it's just a figment of your imagination.
