As promised here [1], I am working on another mod, featuring buildings like spawns and turrets and advanced techniques to build bases and fight each others in teams.
The gameplay could be compared to Natural Selection or Tremulous.
The goal is to destroy all your enemies and their spawns, of course while protecting your own spawns.

The game is almost complete, which is why the open beta will start tomorrow!
Since you need a custom client, I'll provide a download link and server information tomorrow in this thread.

How to win: Your team will win a match if no tee of the opponent team can respawn. There are two possibilities to do that:
1.    Destroy all of the hostile spawn points and kill all enemies
2.    Destroy the energy supply of your opponent’s spawn points and kill all enemies.

Wrench

The wrench can be used as a hammer to hit your enemies, but it is your tool to put up the buildings. First of all choose a building via the building menu (press CTRL and move your mouse over the building you want to create). Then simply press and hold your fire button. To put up buildings you need buildings points.

If your buildings are damaged, you can repair them by pressing the fire button.

Press CTRL to see which places on the map are supplied with energy. Only in the green area you can create buildings.

Tech level
There are three tech levels. Each one enables you to build certain buildings. A higher tech level can be reached by killing other hostile tees. Press TAB to see how many kills are needed to upgrade.


Unhookables

These unhookables will be removed if you reach a certain tech level.


Reactor

This most important building is needed to raise other buildings and to supply your base & repeaters with energy. There can only be one reactor at the same time.


Spawn Point

It allows your team to spawn there. If there are no spawns and no players left your team will lose. So take care of them!


Ammo Dispenser I

It supplies your team with shotguns and ammunition.


Health Station

It replenishes your health in case of medical emergencies.


Repeater

This mini reactor enables you to put up buildings at any other spot on the map. To supply your buildings with energy it needs an operating reactor.


Turret I

This gun shoots automatically at enemies. It has a high range and fire rate, but causes low damage. Be careful: it might hurt your teammates as well!


Shield Generator

It protects friendly players and buildings from hostile projectiles by tossing them back to their senders. Attention: Lasers can shoot through it.


Ammo Dispenser II

Teleporter

It provides faster-than-light travelling between two of them. Only two of them can be build.


Armor Station

Ammo Dispenser III

It supplies your team with laser weapons and ammunition. Do not forget: laser beams will not be blocked by shields!


Turret II

Though people want to stick to the K.I.S.S. mentality, I think it's good to experiment with more complicated and dilated mods, like this one. But it does look confusing... I hope you will add in a kind of a tutorial because it would be chaos without one. o_0 And maybe a sign in the sever itself directing people to the graphic download in case they want to see the bells and whistles of this mod.

you cant play the mod without a custom client anyway so no need of redirecting.

The tutorial idea is quite good when i first played it i was totally confused. And this will give the mod a good documentation for the moment. But on the other hand i guess there won´t be many ppl who will read this tutorial the will jsut download the client and play so i guess much chitti chat about same questions over and over again tomorrow. 


Hopefully this beta will be a success

Then... You know that sign that comes up when it tells you "Contenting to"? Well can't you make that same sign say, "This mod needs custom graphics. Go here for download: "random website"" So that helps some people that want to play it, but don't know were the download link is. Because I'm thinking without a lot of people, the mod won't get popular.

It sounds pretty cool - Im gonna try it out.
Though there will just be players from the forum and this cant really be integrated into the normal client (so everybody could play it) because that stuff is just a bit far away from teeworlds...
Anyways, looks like a big project and sounds pretty cool.

There will be a hint ingame which informs you about the custom client and the website if you use the vanilla client.

This seems to be one of the best mod i've ever seen!!!

The Client isnt released yet right?
Ähmmm... I know you wouldnt really care about one single player but maybe you could combine this client with the client pack (or let sushi add it to the client pack) because there are some really important features that i wouldnt like to miss... though i really WANT to play your MOD and i hope that their are enough ppl for it big_smile

Actually you could also add water and doors to it. Just to mention that xD

About the teleporters... If theres really just 1 teleporter per team (2 spots, i know) then it might be confusing and some ass could plant it just somewhere...
This is just an idea but how about it: If each player with lvl 3 could build his own teleporter? That just he can use?
Obviously much more teleporters too destroy but... the team might have different thoughts of where to place them.

this mod changes the gameplay completely. I guess clans will love it as it is much more tactical and cooperative. If you miss certain client-features, let us know - I bet inherited will try to code it wink

Client has not been released yet. We'll publish the latest version tomorrow combined with the password for the test-server.

And there is no 24/7 host at present. I asked Dani for hosting it, but I have not got an answer yet.

I do understand you concerns about the teleporters, but they are not that strong as they sound. People can choose their spawnpoints themselves. In addition buildings can be damaged or even destroyed by yourself. smile

Wow... Very nice layout and ideas. I would give you more [+1] but it only allows me to give one.

And I agree with Magic Merlin about the doors... but not the water because it would be getting too complicated. A type of door that comes out of a small metal opening in the ground and latches onto another metal peace in the opposite direction. I would have a little button that open and closes ether by hit by hammer or tee weight on it. Nothing to fancy, but the door would also be destroyed by handgun, rifle or bazooka... a little bit by hammer, but not laser.

And two question: If one of the teleports get destroyed, what happens to the one that isn't destroyed? And since the truants require an aim bot in the coding, are you going to be giving it out to the community?

The most important client feature to me is the showing of the IDs in the nameplates.
Since I'm an aktiv admin from a server this is really a must have for me hmm

Should not be too complicated to make and its already somewhere in the client pack from Sushi.

CANT WAIT TILL TOMORROW TO FINALLY TEST THIS big_smile

Hmmm.... This might seem a little of topic but... building weapons like this seems like the perfect way to introduce tee strike weapons... Its just an idea but i think that its a waste to just throw tee-strike away because the weapons were pretty cool and new.
And since the Tee-Strike weapons are already split up into 3 lvl you could realise it like this: tech lvl 2 could build lvl 1 TS weapons - lvl 3 makes class 2 weapons - (new tech lvl) 4 makes lvl 3 weapons. And weapons that are too strong like the big Momma (that had the gravity disadvantage) could be anti builing weapons = 3 dmg on players X dmg on buildings.

I'm sorry that i talk that much - Its not my MOD ^^

Ummm... I would say to release it first, then trickle in little by little more ideas. You might be on to something, but for now I would say no to that since it is already complicated.

Offtopic but, I have always wanted to see a mod that brought back the homing experience into it. Maybe a Turret III that shoots homing rockets?

Ur probably right Bee (not about the homing thing xD).
But Tee-Strike weapons could be an idea for later...

Because this MOD has the potential to become populare BUT mods that require a client to enjoy them (like tee strike) always die very fast because the average player is:
A: Way to dumb to understand the mod.
B: Too lazy to download a client because he cant be sure how good it looks WITH client.
C: Even to lazy to look at a forum thread.

The best would probably be to get the graphics and the whole client of tee-strike and nodes here into the standard client. BUT since the developers dont support modes this wont happen and this mod is probably going to die sad
