Topic: [COMPETITION] Design Contest (Kinda)

Hi!

I'm searching someone who designs the face of my site teeworlds.at (Logo and website).
You will be rewarded (more informations below)


What to do:

- Design a logo for the teeworlds.at clan (TeeWorlds related and in context with the origin of the clan and site: Austria)

- Design the website


Informations:

The website should be the representation of the teeworlds.at clan (Clanpage), and the home of TWCC (http://www.teeworlds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4054).

Here is a simple draft of the wanted structure:

Available description and programming/scripting languages:

HTML/CSS, PHP, JavaScript

Database:
MySQL

You can use whatever you want. Simple ContentManagement systems are allowed too (Wordpress, etc.), but simple HTML/PHP is preferred.

How-to:

If you are interested, answer in this thread and submit your draft (screenshots of the design).

Once the deadline has been reached (deadline to be announced), I will choose the best draft.
The winner can then finish the website (If it's still a draft).

After that, the site goes online, and the designer can claim his reward as defined below after he/she has signed a contract which allows us to use the content on our website without limits.

Rules:

- Applicant has to be an experienced designer (more or less big_smile)
- One application per person
- The design has to be completely UNIQUE (no ready themes, graphics etc.)  so that we can sue people stealing it.
That means you have to be the author of everything

Reward:
For this job I will host a TeeWorlds server of your choice with full access via rcon and through my server-management tool, hosted in a datacentre in Frankfurt (Dedicated hosting) for at least a half year (6 months).

We already host 3 famous Tabletennis servers and one iFreeze+ Server.

with that, you mean all graphics and everything that I make will be copyrighted to you? It sucks.. It is easy, but it takes time. If you will add the design author's name to footer, okay. But I do not agree with it now.

The line you quoted should just mean that you will allow us to do whatever we want with the created content...

So it's a contract which allows the use anywhere and at any time by us (forever).

I had some really bad experience regarding such jobs without use of contracts.
It really happened to me that some designer selled me a website and then claimed I'm using the content without his permission...

Sure, you can write some lines into the footer and add link to your personal page...

As the contract is no normal contract which you use for selling goods, things are different here in Austria.
It's just a transfer of the rights regarding content created by an artist (the owner).
In Austria you have to be 18 years old to sign such a contract. If you are younger, you need the permission of your parents.

People in Austria which are under 18 can even sign cell-phone-contracts and rent webservers with the permission of their parents. (I rent my first webserver 4 years ago with an age of 14).

I doubt that a contract is needed now, so I'll reconsider that...

That may be true,...

But you should check out the prizes for servers.

The price for a 16 slot TeeWorlds server on 4netplayers.de is 25,09 euros per month.
The prices for good rootservers start at 45 euros per month. (Depending on the server you can host around 10 lag-free teeworlds servers).

18 does not mean adult (Trust me wink).
Most 18 year olds are still living with their parents or are studying.
They can't afford such a server with their pocketmoney, etc.

Just calculate the prices for 6 months and you will see what I mean...

Well, if you mean TeeWorlds+ (iFreeze) you should know that the linux version crashes on a mapchange (still not fixed by Tom). My freeze server has one map which runs forever (2/1 rounds, so there is no crash).

So if a mod is wished, it has to run on 32bit linux...

I can re-work the old due" Clansite adding your logo.
It uses a Content Managment System called "Nuked Klan" with forum teams clanwars and so on. It's a my-sql cms designed for clans. The template is designed by me and I like it... but it's really sad to see that noone use it.
What I need to rework for you, if you want:

I dont think you can Host these Servers everytime!

@ Magix: I would never give this design away!

And btw i would never give anything away for this "Instabil" deal...
Schokomuesli just do it yourself!!! Its not that hard - You just need Inkscape.
Make your own design and learn HTML / php!

You should read the first post which says that I will host the server for at least 6 months.
The server is located in a datacentre in Frankfurt (Germany) and is available 24 hours a day (But there may be a short downtime for maintenance - 1-3 hours - once in a week at night)

Schokomuesli just do it yourself!!! Its not that hard - You just need Inkscape.
Make your own design and learn HTML / php!

I'm not stupid, I'm just lazy. That's the reason why I started a contest.

I don't have much free time beside my job...

Btw, that's none of your business.
