Topic: [TUTORIAL] How to deal with bots

Hello smile
I will try to give hints how to play with (or better against) bot users. I hope they will help.

1. Fire with fire
You should NOT use a bot to beat the botter. There are two reasons. For the first here is an example:
Oskar (blue) uses a bot
Heinz (red) is angry and uses his own bot to kill Oskar
Schnitzel (blue) enters the game and sees that Heinz uses a bot. To kill him, he turns his bot on.
The second reason is that you may kill the botter but also the players who play fair. But they will feel like you did when the botter killed you.

2. Botters are cyber trolls
I hope you know what trolls are. If you dont go to Wikipedia and read it big_smile
Botters use their bots most time not because it is very funny for them but because they want to bother the other players. Sentences like "u fukkin botter, u son of a bithc, fukk of man" do not help. They make the botter see that you ARE irritated by him and he will continue. If you just do nothing or answer his spam/insults/whatever like he is a normal player he may get bored and change to another server.

3. Fighting a bot
If you want to play on a certain server with a bot but hint 2 does not work you may try to fight him. (this works only for instagib laser servers)
First, try to jump and move as much as you can because that is the only chance to dodge a bot's shot. It will be hard for you to aim but otherwise you wont be able to aim smile
Second, try to shoot the botter with a laser bounce. I know no bot who calculates this too so the botter cant aim you then (sadly, there are not many situations where you can do this because the botter wont just stand there and wait for you to shot him)
Third, attack with many. The laser needs a certain time to reload (if it has not been changed) so the botter cant shot all of you when you attack at the same time.

These are all tips I know how to behave with a botter on the server.
If you know more you can post them smile

Re: [TUTORIAL] How to deal with bots

Why did you vote this down, sure it doesnt help a lo, but the point is that he tried to help, and invested some time in this text.

to you Neo->i think you know that this is nothing special, what  you described. I think the smart player wont write: "tee,  stop ya bot ". But take a look at the other "about-Bots" threads.. you will find your points and much others, but indeed it all doesnt help a lot, because we will never stop our fight against bots still teeworlds isnt opensource anymore.

Anyway i would write your points to the actually Excisting threads, and delete this topic.

its your /the mod´s decision.

Acute,

Re: [TUTORIAL] How to deal with bots

I have my own strategy to avoid/fight bots, that is called "vote kick".
And jump and try to dodge is useless, the only thing you can do is let him fire first when you are hidden, and then shot him.

Re: [TUTORIAL] How to deal with bots

This guide is really useless and senseless.
Like lordskelethom said, there is the votekick tongue
Btw,

Oskar (blue) uses a bot
Heinz (red) is angry and uses his own bot to kill Oskar
Schnitzel (blue) enters the game and sees that Heinz uses a bot. To kill him, he turns his bot on.

is really ROFL. You will never see too many bots in the same server, and, by the way, you speak like every teeworlds player got a bot... it's only 0.1% and 3/4 of this 0.1% got the tag [BOT] in front of the nickname...

Re: [TUTORIAL] How to deal with bots

Please don't make yet don't another thread on bots, we had have enough. If you think you can bring something new to the debate, read all threads before and you will see that everything has been said.

The best thing to do about bots is not to use them, period. Your text assumes everyone has an aimbot handy, which is truly sad to read.
