Topic: Sound Blocked By Other Apps

I've noticed that if I have Amarok playing/paused, teewars will have no sound when it loads. I still get normal initialisation:

[47a939e9][snd]: device #0 name='CA0106: CA0106 (hw:0,0)'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #1 name='CA0106: CA0106 (hw:0,1)'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #2 name='CA0106: CA0106 (hw:0,2)'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #3 name='CA0106: CA0106 (hw:0,3)'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #4 name='front'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #5 name='rear'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #6 name='center_lfe'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #7 name='side'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #8 name='surround41'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #9 name='surround50'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #10 name='iec958'
[47a939e9][snd]: device #11 name='spdif'
[47a939e9][snd]: device = 1

But nothing is heard. So the solution to this is to tell Amarok to stop. One time I suspect that flash in Iceweasel had the same effect.

I've tested other apps, and Amarok and pidgin, for example, will share the sound system nicely. Does anyone know if there's anything special about the library being used in Teewars needing some sort of configuration to play nicely with ALSA? Or if it's using ALSA, as opposed to OSS or something else?

I'm running Debian unstable on x86, with Teewars 0.3.3.
