Hello!
I have a problem. I can't connect to most servers and they are like all the ones that have players in them. All it does is hang there at the connecting screen and it stays there. I have read some thread and I disabled my router firewall and my ZoneAlarm (game mode) as well. Here is a screenshot:
Does anyone have ideas on what to do to resolve this problem?
You're not trying to connect to non compatible servers, are you? Because this would be exactly what you'll get then.
Well, I have exactly the same problem (Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex i386), teeworlds 0.5.1.
I cannot connect to any server (except a local one). Of course I ticked "compatible servers only". I checked my router settings : I have many ports forwarded to my machine. Not all of them, but as a client, I'm not supposed to, am I ?
I have no problem with p2p or any other app. I remember, I never managed to get it working, I tried with older versions months / years ago 
Any idea ?

I use Windows Xp (very bad, I know ><), and the latest version of the game (0.5.1) and it works when I try to play in lan, but, I'm lonely...
It may be a conspiracy against french gamers >:) (or, just against noobs...)
I wouldn't connect to any game with 300 or higher ping. Expect lots of lag.
Yesterday I had some problems connecting as well. I couldn't play that much because an high ping (>_> >_> p2p >-> >-<). In other instances, I would connect, abort, and then realised the server died... or was re-started.
Huhu, if only it was just this sort of problem.
But I tried to join all the servers of the screen, and it's the same thing: a beautifull screenshot like the first post.
I also tried to pause my firewall (avast).
I also used the magic search function \o/
So, I think I'll try to burn a candle (and improve my english, but it's an other problem, sorry about it xD)
Can you post a screenshot of the command line, too. THen we might get a chance to root the problem.

Does your router have some kind of restriction?
I would say also to try to re-install (deleting the configuration folder is fun! 
) Teeworlds.
By the way, you don't want firefox and Teeworlds running at same time (and even less while browsing media). Uber Lag. To be honest, you don't want Teeworlds and any web browser running at same time.

Accessing your router.
On windows:
Press Windowskey(the one with the flag) + R <- in viste you may just open the start menu
Write "cmd" and press enter.
Write "ipconfig"
Write a note with the line that says "Default Gateway".
PD: Additionally, you may want to tell everyone using the same internet connection in your house to STOP DOWNLOADING STUFF and torrenting gigs and gigs of love.
I did that and it said

Adresse IP ....: 192.168.1.2
Masque de sous-réseau...: 255.255.255.0
Passerelle par défaut ("Default gateway")...: 192.168.1.1
I told my girlfriend that she may be more carefull with the strange things she might download. I'm not sure she really understood ><
