Also, is the main capsule meant for that feature slide show on the front page? Like, when a game is new or on sale?

Yup!

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

How about this as community capsule?

http://i.imgur.com/c49f6o7.png

it looks kinda teeish since the background is just a bigger version of the ingame console and the black/yellow bar looks as if something is under construction, which fits really good to the idea of the steam workshop and the community creating ingame content. Besides that the cursor gives me a "let's do something"-feeling but maybe I'm just tired..

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

I like that idea a lot! But maybe it looks a bit too industrial and not teeish enough...

I suggest removing the small line "jumping the gun".
It is hardly readable and if you remove you can move the logo more to the centre and make it a bit bigger.
It looks so outbalanced and you never see any "mottos" on small capsules.

Thanks a lot! I can't decide whether I like the blurry (3) or the completely unblurry (1) version best...

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

what map is it in the background? it looks kind of interesting ^^

btw. "1" is the best of them imo

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

I just made a little map, didn't even add the game layer big_smile (except for weapons and spawn)
I can work it out if you want.

The full "map"

Notice that 3 has a little soft edge due the blurring, 1 has really sharp edges.
It is something you want to pay attention too (imo).

Maybe I can replace these soft edges on 1.

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

ye ofc try to finish a ruff layout, maybe it has potential to get into the Map Development Project that has started a while ago. smile

Likely ruff = rough, they'd be pronounced the same.

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

Yes I know the word but I didn't understand it's meaning in that sentence, now I do though.

By the way, I made something for the Game Community thingy.
It was rly fast so not too special but just see if you will like it.

I can work out the concept, it is a nice idea but it could be done better.

Interesting one, nice work

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

I think we should keep the rough style the same for each picture. What I mean is if we use blur in one picture it should be in every picture where a map is shown.

But I also like version one from Dr.Dre the best anyway... big_smile
Also, the community picture from you, Dr.Dre looks nice, but I think DerHase's proposal shows the community aspect in a better way.

I agree, and thank you for you compliments smile

Remember the community thing was a rough idea, it can be used for any kind of graphic and I will defenitly work it out!

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE!
Remember that we can use one graphic for multiple things. Just like Portal 2.

Also, maybe we should just gather any type of artwork and see what 'genre' fits best for that particular artwork. Afterwards choose the best for every genre.
By splitting any artwork in genres at the beginning it won't be as easy.
The only thing you need to do is change the resolution.

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

I made this little graphic banner thing, see if you'll like it.
It is currently 444x208 for the community banner, it can be change to any resolution though.
I am planning to make of these in different styles. (jungle, winter, grass)

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

If some Inkskape pro out there likes this idea and wants to do a real artwork, here we go:
For the community banner I would find this quite cool: Two "noble" Tees (maybe wearing a bow tie) sitting at a small, round restaurant table talking to each other while drinking tea.
I think this could look quite cute while showing the community aspect smile

I have some questions:
What would you think about the background?
More dining tees, like as if they were in a restaurant?
Don't you think we should do this for another banner, with a higher resolution?

An idea could be to see a group of fighting tees in the background, and around the table are dropped weapons, like the tees decided to take a small break and have some tea.

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure about the background and also thought about the two possibilites you mentioned. I think the one with the fighting Tees in the background would be better, as it is a bit funny and also involves actual gameplay.

I think this would only fit for the community banner though, as the picture should be somehow related to the page it is featured on... Here it shows the conversation between players. smile I think that was what you meant when you were asking for "another banner", wasn't it?

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

We also still need an idea for the big logo, which I guess will almost be the most important one!

73

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

Maybe show the different teeworlds map styles, jungle, winter, grass and desert as a background and have some artwork on the front.

Re: Teeworlds on Steam, Checklist

Hi! I did an image for "Main capsule"

How you like it? I used official tee (copyright to teeworlds) and i did a custom map + filters + other thinks.

(It's dark because steam is dark! It will blend in with the page!)

http://savander.pl/upload/tw-logo.png

Btw. What we need now? What is done and what we need to do? Which graphics etc..
Tell us a state of preparation. Could you ? smile)

For people for which it's not displaying.. http://savander.pl/upload/tw-logo.png
