Have you redirected the port to your server in the router (NAT)?
Have you allowed teewars in you firewall?
What OS are you running anyway?

Re: How to set up a server? pls help

Assumed that you're running windows vista/XP(>SP2) - Do this:

CONFIGURE ROUTER
1...START -> Run -> type "cmd /k ipconfig" -> OK
2...Look at your internal IP address (In 95% it starts with 192.168.XXX.XXX)
3...Route port 8303 to your internal IP address (refer to your router manual)

CONFIGURE WINDOWS WIREWALL (if you have dumb stuff like Norton Internet protection installed you're on your own)
4...START -> Run -> type "firewall.cpl" -> OK
5...Klick on the "Exceptions" tab and then the "Add port..." button
6...Type "Teewars" (or whatever) in the name field and "8303" in the port field. Mark "UDP" and klick OK

The error message from the master server might still exist (and your server will then not be seen) but if you ask anyone to connect to your public IP address and they can connect you've done everything correct. See this thread for more info about the server settings and possible errors.

Good luck!

Re: How to set up a server? pls help

Well, I just asked my friend to join my server by IP, and it worked. So it seems like it's the Master Server that have some problems (No disrespect to the developers!).

But from what I've seen this should be taken care of at the moment.

Same problem for me.(see http://www.teewars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=84 for info)

Good thing it's about to be fixed to v0.3.0. smile

Re: How to set up a server? pls help

This seams to be a problem with different kind of NAT-implementations. I've looked into today for 0.3.0 and solved the problem. For 0.3.0, I/we will write a little tutorial about how to setup a server correctly and all settings for it.

Beautiful! Can't wait to have my own server up running, a good way to support the Teewars community.
