nope the tactics of pulling a frozen enemy to your base to prevent them from melting is a nice addition

but when you do that, there is a timer for melting so you have to be quick. so just make custom maps with no death tiles. i find ctf5 for freeze gamepla to be a little bigg

I think its not too good tactic to put frozen enemies to your teams base - one enemy come and he find all hes teammates on one position hmm
And i have new idea (oh no big_smile) - to prevent spawnkilling, players can have a "shield" 0.5 secondes after spawn. And i dont like the newest function - when is the frozen player putted into the deathtile he spawn frozen. I hate it! Is there any way to turn it off?

yeah, this feature is set by a variable.
Ill add the spawnprotection to be a variable too wink

EDIT:
I thought about a nice spawnprotect feature which i will implent like this:
In the config setted variable, there is the time.
If the player is killed within that time, he wont freeze and just respawn, so the killer gets a point for nice gameplay (would be unfair if he didnt) and the victim can't get spawnfrozen wink

First of all: REALLY good mod which supports teamwork very much.

What I dislike about the 7on7 server are the maps, Tom you can do great mods but in mapping you kinda suck xD

The problem on small maps like ctf3 is that ppl only camp in the middle and hope for a hit.

A map of the size of cft5 or maybe a little bit smaller would be great, but please use maps without death tiles!

Cause ppl like to throw you down when you are frozen instead of melting you. I guess there is also a bug that you melt when you get killed by the tiles.

Maybe I will try to make a good map for the mod to make it even better.

You can set players who died by death tiles to respawn frozen in the cfg. i just dont like it smile

and yeah, o10 is already doing great maps for the mod big_smile

Hey, great mod, really!

But I have some trouble getting this to work with a linux server. Unfortunately I'm running debian etch with an older version of glibc (and cannot use your binaries because of this) so I downloaded the teeworlds sources and I'm able to compile the standard binary so far - without any problems.

To get the freezemod into play I followed your instructions in the initial post: Downloaded the freeze source and copied the contents into a fresh teeworlds 0.5.1 source directory. Then I build the executable with bam server_release and get no errors so far.

But after that I'm stuck. Did I do everything correct? How do I launch a server with freezemod now? Tryed "iFreeze" and "Freeze" as sv_gametype but it always falls back to "DM" :-(

What am I doing wrong? :-)

Also, check out if you're using the proper server. Run it this way: ./teeworlds_srv -f [yourconfig].cfg.
It should really work, or maybe you didn't really update the original source with the mod source-files. And in effect you built a pure server by accident?

If you still have problems, tell me what version of glibc you have, why you can't update it etc. smile

Version 3.0 is out! big_smile

New added features:
- loads of new cfg commands
- muting / unmuting
- playerlist now is id : player and not player : id
- Better motd

Gameplay improvements
- Fixed loads of bugs (there shouldnt be uch left)
- Overall improved some things and game mechanics


Please note that my src might have some parts which arent 100%ly well coded. Im not a noob but imo its boring to remove those parts without having big useage.
Maybe ill do those cosmetic things soon but for now, please do not complain about the src, as i can easyly remove it smile

Have fun with the new release. It should be extremely clan friendly and clan-war friendly while being extremely customizeable.

imo all maps work fine.
you just need to use a map with an equal size to the maxplayers of the server, or it will be too crowded or too empty smile

I have an Idea.

How about in the new version of freeze you and put: "Freeze tiles" and "Melt tiles" in the map. big_smile

Kind of what I was thinking is, in a map. (like a winter one) There are some Ice one the ground or the sides and if you sit on them for more than 3 sections you get frozen.

And for the melt, there is some water on the ground, and if you are frozen and you some how manage to sit in there for more than 3 sections, then you melt. smile
