Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

Who is still mapping for this compet? I think there should/could be some more submissions by now, even though I myself said that it takes time to make good maps.

Notice that I am not responsible for this contest. I only started this topic and read the rules, nothing more. smile

Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

Well I'm mapping. But with every new map I make, mapping gets more and more boring. I barely have any fun doing this, but I'll submit my map before dead line is reached. So, yeah, I am still in here smile

Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

Is it okay if I send in a race entry that plays on the ctf gametype? I have a new map, H_race7, but it currently works only on the ctf gametype, so is that okay? I cooouuullldd change it but I like how it is now. wink

MDC Rules wrote:

- Categories
— Race . Only Teerace
— DM/TDM. Maps have to be compatible with both gametypes.
— CTF.
— For CTF , DM /TDM We only test their vanilla compatibility -> we dont care about mods.

So what exactly are the categories? In total, can a person submit only 3 maps, or 4?

Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

I more or less amused they wanted to disclude DDRace or any race mod with extras, but maybe you're right. :\

sry cant accept this one as submission. This tournament ONLY accepts teerace maps. i wont make any exception about that one.

People can submit 3 different maps one per category

That's fine. I've made it also in race format so unless teerace doesn't have the ability to have players collide, hook, or hammer each other, then there's nothing wrong with it.

Teerace doesn't do that stuff. Teerace does racing, and checkpoints, with no player collision.

Words of Wisdom

When a legendary mapper creates a new world, he seeks a path for the tee to follow, rather than obstacles for the tee to dodge.

Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

Nilaya, download link is broken. Fix it pls.
And yeah, this is map competition, not a way to popularize the gametype. So i'd prefer to add Race mod by Rajh too, cuz it is popular, and 60% of the maps made are made for this gametype.
UPD: And who's the judges please?

Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

Seems like I could post any race-map and win the contest, there are no submissions in this category yet.

I posted my first map for this contest, ctf_oasis. I think Ill have to update it before this competition ends.

But test it and please tell me why you like it and what you dont like.

Just wondering if placing the katana would gain you points or lose in the design contest

The ninja is disabled in all the decent dm1 servers.

Re: [COMPETITION] Teeworlds MDC 2010 Discussion Thread

ninja is not a noob powerups, because someone hate it, and, especially in map small like dm1, ninja can be very fatal for enemy
