Topic: Lag is constant. And I've found why.

The reason I open this new post is because I have constant lag. I can't aim properly, my tee falls constantly, they kill me before I can see what's going on, my chain doesn't work properly, and things like that.
I've found the answer when talking to a Russian guy that was playing in the same server. He said to me the server was located in Russia, and he's living there. He had a ping of 3 ms. My ping was 200 ms, and I'm from Spain. After some months trying to solve the problem it was like aha! I got you. The server is too far away from Spain and packages last too much to get there and come back here. I have to say that when I ping Google my average ping is 11ms, so different to my ping in Teeworlds. The problem is, only Russians seem to play because servers with lower pings are always empty.
It's a pity it happens because it's a game I really enjoyed and I think I will have to stop playing it.

Have a good day.

I live in western Europe (like I think, most of Teeworlds players) and I think most servers are located here, or at least have low ping from here.
Sort servers by ping, I would be surprised you don't have any non-empty servers with low ping (<70).

Hi, Dune!

Thanks so much for your comment.

I have sorted by ping and lower pings are empty. I don't understand why it happens to me. The only servers in which they play are Russians (they speak Russian in the chat), and the ping is above 200.
I don't know what to do, to be honest. I have the latest version, and it's true in the previous one there are more people playing, but the lag is nearly the same.

Which version have you got, and what OS is your PC running? I am on Linux Mint, so maybe Windows players are different from Linux players.

I reside in France, and when it comes to CTF servers, I see a 80ping, 100ping, and 180ping that have people on it.
If I remember correctly I did have some lags on my linux mint, but I don't think it was caused by the network, more like the processor stuttering. No problems on Windows, yeah.

Thanks for your comment, Dune. I've just spoken to a person living in Hungary. He has some lags as well but his ping is lower.
My internet connection works perfect. Pinging Google it reads 11ms average. So it's fantastic.
I think it's a shame those things happen in 2019. Fiber should solve those problems, but all of them have to have this technology in order for it to work worldwide.
I will see what to do, but I don't want to go back to Windows. Linux Mint is an awesome OS and runs far better than Windows.
Regarding the processor, it's not the one causing the problem. I built my computer a couple of years ago, and even overclocked the processor. This is just the distance.
