Although those are good starting positions, there are many times good to keep those in flux. If your teammate get hold of the flag, the center player should usually attack, and middle def go to center, so you help your friend out of the base. Too many teams stand firmly to their starting positions which both creates boring games, and makes it hard to get the flag.

With a 6on6 match, think about 3 def, 1 in base and 2 down, 1 middle and 2 attackes. By the way, all depend on you and your team mates.

Open Map editor (ctrl + shift + E) than press shift+o, select ctf2.map and watch.
