Does someone per chance still has the sources on binary for rocket party? That would be amazing!
Hey, 8 years after I just stumbled upon this map. I updated the links so it is available again.
Glad to see that the game development is active ! Git is a good choice.

A typematrix with french dvorak skin, and white version…
Really cool mod !
Congratulations !
Too bad that sources are not available. The only server is always full ...
Obscurantism never had been a good solution ...
This is a deadlink. Can someone host it, and give a new link ?
Another tiny update to make it funnier on HammerParty mod. I didn't update the screenshots.
A col with the number of shots, and the number of successful shot would be cool, especially in instagib, to know your aim efficiency.
As datag said :
Nope, this won't work if the server doesn't send out the other players' data.
So players wouldn't know the whole players positions.
In that case the only way to make a radar would be to connect the server both as a player and as a spectator, and effectively I don't see how to prevent that.
But the "far view" could perhaps be applied to demo watching ?
SushiTee, server which haven't many bandwith could disable this option, but bandwith is not always a problem (in LANs for example).
Somerunce, what's the difference with now ? I mean actually a spectator can already go everywhere on the map, see what happens, and talk to his team.
For tournaments, clanwars etc, a good solution to prevent cheating would be to have delay when you are spectator. Il you see what happened 10 earlier, it is useless to tell player what happens on the map !
It could be used with demos too, for a debriefing after a clanwar for example, and there is not way to cheat.
Anyway thanks for you answer.
Hello world
Here is another improbable idea, for improbable full-of-free-time admins.
The idea, would be to make spectators able to zoom/unzoom. It could be useful to see the whole game, global player positions, teams strategies etc. A team during a clanwar could have a spectator member who could see the whole game and tell his team what strategy mistakes he saw after. We can easily imagine use the scroll to zoom and unzoom.
I suppose there would be a problem with the distance of the camera and the tile alignment such as in the editor, but who knows, someone here could have a genius idea ?
What do you think about that ?
Can you tell me where you read that the game is rewrited from C++ to Lua almost completely ?
what!?!?!? XD if the clients detect that mouse movement is different from cursor movement, it call the server tool that ban for x minutes the Ip of the client...
And what can prevent me to do my own client that don't call the server ?
If you have a bot, mouse movement/key pressing is different from the real. So it can be detected.
How can you prove it's different from the real ? Some bots don't even use the game interface you know ...
Hi world
I have a suggestion. There are too many abuse votekick called, and too often changemap following my advice. I think that make player write a justification sentence when he calls a vote would be a good solution, at least to prevent abuse votekick.
What do you think about that ?
Woaw,
Detecting perfectly a bot is _theorically_ impossible, so why are you searching for pratical possibilities ?
I don't get it
You can't make an anti aimbot tool, because it is not possible to _really_ know who is an aimbot, and who is not.
I mean, ok actually bots make very symetric moves and always shoot you at the second they see you, and so it's obvious. But what can, really proves you that it is not a very very good player ?
If I make a bot which moves like an human, and sometimes miss its shot, I mean a bot acting like me and you. How can you see that it's a bot, or that it's an human ?
Obscurantism is bad. There is no exception. Obscurantism is bad.
Crappy mods (imho...) already exists, and they're made in C++, so language doesn't really matter. And if mods are played, that probably means that they arn't so bad.
Crappy mods won't be played, and so will disappear, that's the natural selection. (You know, Darwin etc
)
Every growing project can see its community grows at the same time, and so there will be more noobs tommorrow than they are today. But it is not because the game is easy to play, or to mod, or to make maps for it...
Hi world
I have noticed that when a new map is loaded, many people quit the game during the warmup. That's make the teams be unbalanced sometimes, so I think teams should be balanced when the warmup ends.
But sometimes teams become unbalanced (because of inequal number of playrers, or inequals skills of team) during a round on server which havn't enabled the autobalance option. It would be nice to make a vote "Balance teams now" possible, or something like that.
I hope you like those ideas.
I don't, with Ubuntu 9.04 too.
What he means is, that it would be easier not having to connect to your server via telnet, but typing your commands directly into the console, in which your server runs.(not that i agree with that)
That's it.
Hello world
I can't remember with which version the motd stopped to be automatically displayed when a player connected to a server. I think it is too bad. The motd is important I think, at least as much as the server name. Don't you think it should be displayed at the connection a few seconds ? It would be nice to make the default server config display it, and let servers admins disable it if they want to.
What do you think about that ?
I'm glad that such a mod exist now, but why must we use telnet? Wouldn't be easier for use to just type commands in the standard input of the program ?
I mean, if we had to connect to the host with ssh, to find the server process (using screen for example) and give it commands appears easier than doing a new telnet connection... Don't you think ?
If my english is too bad, tell me, I'll try to explain me by another way.
Woaw
Some of your maps are really, really nice. (Over a mountain, flake game and nofear game). I also like attack textures.
